Idaho Pondmasters grew out of a frustration of not having a local business for pond products.

Tom and his Grandmother installed the first pond at Idaho Pondmasters over 40 years ago. That original pond has had many changes made over the years, but is still at Idaho Pondmasters. Tom kept up the tradition at Idaho Pondmasters in the 1970´s installing three small concrete ponds. Two of those old concrete ponds are running and are great examples of how to inexpensively convert old technology to a new working pond.

Tom and Kevin kept building ponds during the 1980´s in their yard, usually as weekend projects with friends. Most of the ponds have names for the friend who picked up a shovel and suggested putting in another pond. All the ponds have changed over the years as Tom´s and Kevin´s knowledge grew and desired to have more than just a hole in the ground with water in it.

Idaho Pondmasters strives to have a complete selection of skimmers, filters, UV lights, pumps, filtration systems, skimmers, koi food, chemicals, and medicine in stock to totally care for a water garden or koi pond.

In 2003 Idaho Pondmasters started carrying high quality bog plants and hardy water lilies. 2003 was the first year Japanese Koi were imported. Idaho Pondmasters continues to import high quality Japanese Koi each year for southeastern Idaho Koi enthusiasts.

In 2006 Idaho Pondmasters moved into its new retail location at 2643 W. Old Hiway 91 in Inkom, Idaho.With the extra space Pondmasters began carrying bronze statuary and fountains, several different lines of concrete fountains, and perennials.

New for the 2007 pond season, Idaho Pondmasters will carry tropical water lilies, pond heating systems and begin conducting monthly seminars.

Idaho Pondmasters continues to strive to be southeastern Idaho´s water garden and Koi pond experts.
